Estadio Ciudad de La Plata is located in La Plata, Argentina, one of the famous football stadium known for novel designs and modern facility. The football stadium is owned and administered by Buenos Aires and provincial government jointly. On June 7, the football stadium was inaugurated, with some planned football construction having not being completed. All users of the football stadium include Estudiantes LP and Gimnasia y Esgrima LP.
In addition, the football stadium also equipped with a small rugby stadium and physical education center. In 1996, the construction project was approved by Executive Branch. One year later, the roof of the football stadium was started to be constructed. After the foundation stone was laid by Eduardo Duhalde and the Mayor of La Plata, Julio Alak, the construction work has started officially.
After the opening in 2003, the football stadium was closed temporarily to transfer the football stadium into an all-seat one, with roof covered all seats.
